Privacy notice
How we handle the information you give us.
What we collect
When ticketed events are running and you reserve a seat or join the notification list, we collect your name, email address, mobile number, and anything you tell us about allergies, dietary needs, or your party. Nothing else is asked of you, and nothing is bought from anyone else or gathered from other websites.
Separately, and without identifying anyone, we count visits to the site. That is described under Visitor numbers below.
Why we collect it
Your email and phone confirm your booking and let us reach you if an evening changes or is cancelled. Allergy and dietary notes go to the kitchen. If you join the notification list, we text you when a new event is announced.
Verification
We verify both your email address and your phone number before adding you to the notification list. This is to stop anyone signing you up without your knowledge.
Text messages
You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. We honour that permanently. Replying START begins them again. We will not add you back to the list without your explicit consent, in keeping with Canada’s anti-spam legislation.
Who sees it
Only Kotori’s staff. We never sell your details and never share them for marketing. Our systems providers, who host the database and deliver our email and text messages, process data on our instructions only.
Where it is stored
In a database hosted in Canada.
How long we keep it
Booking records are kept while we may still need them for our own accounts and records. Notification-list details are kept until you ask to come off the list, except that a record of your having said STOP is kept permanently, so that we cannot text you again by mistake. Visit counts are kept for about a year and then deleted, which is long enough to compare one season with the last.
You can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected] or call (905) 726-2083.
When this was last changed
31 August 2026. If we change how we handle your information we will update this page, and this date with it.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. It stores one short random code in your browser for as long as the tab is open, so that two pages viewed one after another are counted once rather than twice. Closing the tab discards it, and it cannot be used to recognise you on a later visit or on any other website.
Visitor numbers
We count visits to this website ourselves. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no other company involved.
For each page viewed we record the page address, whether the visit came from a search engine, a social network or a link we published, and whether the device is a phone, tablet or computer. We do not record your IP address, and nothing recorded identifies you or is linked to your name, email, booking or any other information you give us. The result tells us how many people came and roughly where from, and nothing more.
